Collaborative projects between local refuges and schools are also encouraged. Grants range from $10,000 to $15,000 and require matching funds. Proposals must be postmarked no later than November 1, 2008. Visit the website listed above to review the Requests for Proposals.
FUNDING: Lowe’s Offers School-Related Projects Funding Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant program gives step-by-step instructions for the first grantwriter and includes samples of successful proposals. There is a preference for funding requests that have a permanent impact such as facility enhancement (both indoor and outdoor) as well as landscaping/clean up type projects. Projects that encourage parent involvement and build stronger community spirit will be favored. The deadline for submitting applications for this grant cycle is October 17, 2008. Once 1,500 applications are received, the application process will be closed.
